iPad 5 Rumors and Teasers: Part IV

Following close behind the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, the iPad 5 launches tomorrow! At Pad and Quill, we’ve been reading about it non-stop, trying to suss out what exactly the new iPad will contain. With this one being the last in a series of posts, we’ll explore new features of the iPad 5 until the tablet becomes public.
The When
The launch date is tomorrow at 1:00pm EDT, 10:00am PDT and 6:00pm BST. But the release date, with this being when the public will actually be able to buy the iPad 5, hasn't yet been confirmed. As in the previous iPad 5 Pad and Quill blog post, the rumored release date seems to be November 1st, following Apple's pattern of 10 days between launch and release.

The Who
Earlier rumors of Apple severing ties with their Chinese manufacturer, Foxconn, because of issues of "unreliability" seem to be just that- rumors. It looks like the Apple-Foxconn marriage will continue on for now, especially with the launch taking place tomorrow.
The Where
The invitation-only launch will be held at Apple's Cupertino campus, but major media outlets will be broadcasting it live so you'll be able to easily watch it from home.
The Why
Well, it's been a year since the last iPad, so it's definitely time for an upgrade. And with a thinner, lighter iPad, it's more of a next step in a natural evolution of tablets than an upgrade. Plus, Apple is under constant pressure to keep ahead of the curve, especially with Android nipping so closely at their heels.
The What
Though nothing's been officially confirmed, the news that Apple will release an iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 have been kept as secret as a clear plastic bag. But there have been new teasers that Apple will design a keyboard for the iPad, a Smart Cover-like device that enhances the iPad's capabilities. But this is still in design-and-prototype, a stage notorious for tossing away just as much as it keeps.
One exciting bit of news- although there's been no clear indication that it'll get shown tomorrow- is wireless charging. Instead of plugging in your iPad to the wall, you'd put it into an iPad case that would inductively charge it by covering the face of the iPad. Of course, the downside of this is that the cover itself has to be charged, but inductive charging seems to be the way of the future as Apple filed for its patent in September 2011.
With only 11 (rumored) days until the iPad 5 is released, you'll need a cover to protect it. Pad and Quill has the perfect one for you, so check out our iPad case selection. All iPad covers come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
