How do your Bella Fino cases work?
It utilizes a 3M clean release adhesive technology that holds your phone in place and allows you to remove it with no sticky residue. It might not be magic, but it is amazing.
What does your warranty cover on your iPhone cases and wallets??
Our leather iPhone cases and wallets are warrantied for 25 years. As long as the product is used under normal conditions and for the purpose intended we will back it up. My calls sound muffled when using my iPhone case?
ALL wallet style iPhone cases have this issue due to the background microphone. This can be easily resolved. When wrapping the case back ensure you leave at least 1-inch space between the two sides as this allows the background microphone (near your camera) to operate properly.
What is this little baggie that has two black strips inside?
Those are the high friction coefficient bumper material we use in our iPhone cases. That’s math talk for rubber bumpers used in the corners of your case to secure your iPhone. If you find over time your iPhone get’s a bit loose you can apply a very small piece of this material to the corners to make the fit tighter.
Does the camera and flash work in my case?
All of our iPhone cases support camera function, it can be sneaky if you ask us. The Bella Fino, Woodline and Timberline cases also support full camera AND flash, the other cases do not.
I see markings on my Luxury iPhone case?
Those are natural markings that occur from a high end full grain leather. If you would like to reduce those markings we recommend our Leather Balm or Leather Oil & Cleaner. These products will greatly reduce markings from usage and makes the leather very soft.
If you would like a luxury case that shows very little marking we recommend ordering our Galloper Black as it is designed to not show marks.
What is the difference between the Luxury Pocket Book and the Little Pocket Book for iPhone?
The Luxury Pocket Book uses a premium American Full Grain leather that wears and patina’s to tell your story. The Little Pocket Book utilizes a durable but less expensive top grain that keeps a very consistent appearance.
What is the Break-In period for a leather iPhone case?
We love break-in periods around here. The ugliest your case will ever be is the first day you get it, that's our honest belief. The beauty comes from using it, breaking it in and telling your story on it. American Full Grain leathers are stiff. Really stiff. This is due to the quality of the leather and how it was carefully tanned at our factory. Your iPhone case will initially need to break in with usage. You can accelerate the break-in period by applying our Pad & Quill leather balm/oil or any good quality boot oil (Pro Tip).

How do I care for my leather?
The number one way is to use it! The usage and handling of Full Grain leathers naturally softens or ‘breaks in’ the leather. The leather comes fully tanned, oiled, and waterproofed. If you want to recondition it and reduce scratches or markings we recommend using our leather balm and leather oil & cleaner specially formulated to rehydrate, refresh, and waterproof your leather as it ages. Why do I see markings on my leather?
That is the nature of our American Full Grain leathers (with exception to our Galloper Black). These markings tell the story of your bag and wallet, but if you would like to reduce said ‘story’ we recommend a generous treatment with our high quality leather oil & cleaner. This has been thoroughly tested and we love the results with our very well-traveled bags and well-loved wallets.
How do I care for my Waxed Canvas bag?
Our premium Twill Waxed canvas is water resistant and will wear for many years. If you want to refresh your canvas every 2-4 years contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for information on wax compound and how to apply. It brings back the original waxing and works wonderfully.
What is the warranty on your bags & wallets?
Warranty is 10 years for wallets, and 25 years for bags, not kidding. Our wallets are built to last a decade and our bags are built to last a quarter century at least. Our bags & wallets are made from the best leather and best hardware we could source. They are stitched by craftsman and craftswomen who’s fathers, fathers stitched leather. What is the Sure-Lock Bumper System?
Fumble Insurance. The Sure-Lock system was introduced in 2012 to offer a more secure fit in our wood frames and make the wood structure even stronger! Works very well.
Do your iPad cases provide protection?
Although we cannot warranty the protection of your iPad in our case, we're confident you will find our line of iPad cases to provide excellent damage protection. PLUS our design is so close to a real book that our cases provide excellent theft deterrence.

Our bookbindery cases are warrantied for 60 days as book binding material wears like a real book over time. We offer free wood repair service on these cases in case of incidental drops.

Can I wrap the Cartella case cover back like a paperback?
Exactly! The crafted design of the Cartella was intended to wrap the cover all the way back and create a natural typing angle. We use them that way daily and it’s awesome.
Does the Cartella case provide protection?
Although we cannot warranty the protection of your laptop in our case, we're confident you will find the Cartella to provide excellent drop protection. PLUS our design is so close to a real portfolio that our cases provide excellent theft deterrence.
How does my Macbook fit in the Cartella case?
The Cartella Linen case uses our high friction coefficient bumper material to provide a snug fit. That’s math talk for secure rubber bumpers. Please note the laptop stays in place but cannot be turned upside down unless the cover is secured with the elastic strap.
The Cartella Slim case uses our specially designed 3M residue-free secure-locking adhesive that holds thousands of Macbooks, iPhones, and iPads in place. It is designed to be reused and reattached multiple times, but will never let your Macbook go... until you want it to.

Do all the Apple Watch straps fit in your roll up pockets?
All of them fit except the link bracelet.
Are your Apple Watch bands waterproof?
All our watch bands are designed as fine pieces of leather artwork. Like any fine leather item, the band's are naturally water resistant but are in no way waterproof. We do not warranty against water or sweat markings as this is what we like to call character on a fine leather watch band. With that said if your band is exposed water we highly recommend you condition the bands with our leather balm or oil after the leather dries out.
Does this band work with my Apple Watch?
Most of our bands work with both the 42mm and 38mm Apple Watch. This includes Series 1 and Series 2 versions of the Watch. Please carefully check each product for your specific size of 42mm or 38mm. The Field Strap and Lowry Cuff only come in 42mm sizing.

Is my product actually made by hand??
Yes! Every one of our products are made by hand. We work closely with very skilled craftsman in book bindery and leather goods. You'll note that on some of our iPhone cases and all our leather bags, the signature of the craftsman who made that bag is present. This is why we say Crafted, Pad & Quill.
Is the case made of real wood?
Yes, every one of our wood cases is made from either furniture grade baltic birch, or FSC certified hardwoods. They are cut to exacting measurements of nearly 1/4000ths of an inch and then many are hand-finished in our Minneapolis shop.
How do I care for my leather products?
We utilize two very high quality leathers in all our leather goods. That includes iPhone cases, leather bags, laptop sleeves and some iPad cases. The best way to care for this type of waxed leather is to simply use it with your hands as natural oils condition the leather. If you want to refresh your leather or reduce some marks we recommend using our Leather Balm or Leather Oil & Cleaner which are specially formulated to refresh, rehydrate, and waterproof your leather as it ages. Can the wood crack or break in my iPhone or iPad case?
What sets some of our cases apart is the natural wood cradles that hold our iPhones, iPads, and Macbook laptops. Yes, if you drop your case hard enough or drive over it with a car (true story) the wood can break, but you'll note the device is likely to be protected.
We offer a free wood replacement service in the rare occurrence that something like this does occur. Please contact us for assistance.
How do I care for my bookbindery cases like the Contega Linen or Cartella Thin?
Your P&Q case will wear like an old book if it is treated like the device inside, with common sense care. We ask that the case is not left in hot cars, exposed to extremely cold temperatures, used as a dog catching toy, exposed to a toddler's curiosity or any other activity that the device it carries could not live through. For cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth over the binding material. The birch wood is finished with an extremely hard eco friendly urethane. If, for any reason you spill liquid on the wood or case, simply use a damp cloth to clean the affected area. Over time binding material will wear like a favorite book, especially on the edges and in the creases...Impermanence is the cost of a real book.

Our shipping times are listed on the site and generally correspond to the color combination you have chosen. Free shipping generally arrives in 2-4 business days.
What if I need to cancel, or change my order?

What shipping services do you use?
For domestic you can choose USPS or FedEx. Options from free first class shipping to additional fee overnight are available.
Do you ship International?
We do! Please note that we cover Canada, UK, Germany, and Australia VAT Taxes (where applicable) for you at checkout. All other countries are responsible for their VAT taxes. We ship using FedEx International Priority almost anywhere globally in 2-3 Days.
What about international Import or Value Added Taxes (VAT)?
Please be aware that International orders may require you to pay import taxes upon receipt. Pad and Quill is not responsible for paying any additional customs fees, courier fees or taxes once in country. That is the responsibility of the buyer. We do not cover return shipping costs of items refused at customs.

Leather endures. Like Washington's soldiers at Valley Forge, leather marches on despite adverse conditions. Know what else is unrelenting? Pad & Quill leather bags and leather device covers. You'll depend on these items for 25 years. We will back you up as long as the product is used under normal conditions and for the purpose intended. Basically, if one of these items fails during the two and a half decades due to a manufacturing defect, we failed and will make it right.
10-Year Wallet Warranty
The average man carries his wallet for 7 years, but Pad & Quill's wallets are so beautiful we think you'll want to carry it for at least a decade. Therefore, we guarantee our full-grain leather wallets will be your faithful companion for 10 years at least. As long as they are properly cared for and used for their intended purpose, we will have your back if anything happens over the next decade due to a manufacturing defect. You've got enough things to worry about, your wallet shouldn't be one of them.
Book Bindery Case Warranty
Pad & Quill warranties our book bindery work for 1 year on all Linen Buckrum products and 60 days for all other book cloth products. We will back you up as long as the product is used under normal conditions and for the purpose intended.
Lifetime Wood Warranty
Stuff happens, dogs happen, forgetting your iPhone or iPad on the roof of your car happens. Belive me... we know. For the life of your wood book bound case product (eg. Little Pocket Book, Luxury Book, Contega, Cartella) we will replace your wood cradle and ship back to you, free of charge. Please contact customer service and let them know you are sending in your very sad case for repair. We will send you back a very happy one with all-new wood. Our repair team loves good jokes so try to include one in your package.
Stuff We Don't Cover
Our warranty covers faults in materials and workmanship but does not apply if the damage is caused by unreasonable use or neglect, normal marking from wear and tear, or if you just change your mind. Likewise, fluctuating fit, abuse of the product, and disregard for the product care instructions are not covered.
Check to see if you match any of these profiles, if so your product will have a good story to tell, but it's not covered:
- The Super Stuffer. Putting more cards than recommended in our wallets is too tough on our stitches and they will likely surrender in defeat. Each wallet is designed with a specific amount of cards. Respect the stitch!
- The Modifier. Putting rivets in our bags or custom stitch patches are really cool, honestly. But it does void the warranty.
- The Accident Friend Maker. Spilled paint on the product? Dropped it from the roof of a skyscraper? Fell into the ocean? Well, you have a great story to tell new friends.
- The Deep Sea Diver. You think swimming with our leather goods might be an option, it's not. Leather is water resistant but over time if it sees too much water it becomes dry and cracks. Remember our leather balm/oil is your friend for the next 25 years.
- The Preference Changer. You've decided you no longer really like this color and want to trade in or get a refund. If it's not in new condition and beyond 30 days we recommend you gift it and become a hero to one of your friends.
- MMA Fighter. You beat your PQ product, really hard. You put it into major jujitsu holds and it gets the living life beat out of it. Let's call all that scarring, marks of glory…but not covered under our warranty.

How do I return my product?
We are here to help! Please contact us or call us at 1-844-665-2142 (M-F 9am-5pm CST). One of our PQ Guru's will take care of you. Please note: This item must be in like-new & sellable condition to receive a refund. Also please note that we are unable to make exchanges for returns.
Can I change or add to my order?
Once the order is placed you cannot change or add your order. You will need to contact customer service where they will cancel your order and have you place a new order.
How do I cancel my order?
Please immediately contact us. Orders can usually be canceled within 24 hours. Orders cannot be canceled after this period, or after the carrier has picked up the shipment. Pad and Quill is not responsible for shipping costs associated with order cancellations or product returns.
