Great product, but depends on how you use your iPhone

I picked up the little black book for my iPhone along with a Contega case for the iPad (which i LOVE - you can read my review over there for that one). The Little Black book case makes your iPhone look like a miniature Moleskine book. I am addicted to Moleskines so I HAD to get one.
This case is so beautifully made (by bookbinders!) and the bonded leather cover is so lovely.

Also, if you use your iPhone frequently as a phone, you will be happy. With the cover folded back, it gives you more heft to hold onto with the phone up to your ear, and is very comfortable to hold.

My only (minor) complaint is the tight port access. If you are plugging in an Apple headphone, it is fine, but some other headset plugs might have a hard time fitting. I had to pare the plug on mine down a little with a utility knife to make it fit. In future versions I'd like to see more of a circular hole around the plug instead of straight. Also, on the side where the sound on/off and volume buttons are located is a little tight. If I didn't have a fingernail I really wouldn't be able to turn the sound off and on. Again, I'd like a little more space in there.

I love this case, but I don't think I'll use it. Why? I'm an iPhone power user, am picking it up to use it every few minutes, and I didn't realize how much I use my iPhone one handed. And unfortunately a book design like this really doesn't accommodate that. Which is NOT the fault of the Little Black Book case. :)
You need two hands to pick it up and open it (removing the elastic) and once the cover is open it's awkward to do a lot of texting unless you hold it sideways (and do a lot of two-thumbed texting more than I call). However, if you are a non-rabid iPhone user, or a two-handed user of the iPhone, or are a one-fingered hunt and peck typer, this case will work just fine for you.

I really really wish I weren't such a one-handed user because I really really love this case. I think I will end up giving to my dad for Christmas. He used the iPhone as a PHONE and he'll be able to appreciate this case properly.

*I wonder - would you guys ever make an iPhone case so that the binding is at the top of the phone? So it's like a steno pad (also by Moleskine?) then that would allow for two-thumbed texting.
